Who we are

Main Street Thrift first opened our doors in Wilmington, MA in 2009. Over the last 15 years, we have built a dedicated clientele of 1000s of consignors and customers alike. Second-hand shopping saves items from going to the landfill by extending their lifespan. In addition, shoppers find something unique that is significantly less expensive than buying new, and YOU can reduce clutter in your home and earn some cash through consignment.

We find new appreciative owners for home decor + vintage and antique items + women’s fashion and more that our consignors have owned and cherished. We aspire to provide a stress-free experience during life’s (and décor) transitions. By curating eclectic treasures, we offer affordable and quality goods for all lifestyles.

Our mission is to bring high quality items and fashion to local customers through sustainable secondhand goods. We love staying involved with the community and regularly donate unsold items to local nonprofits.

Joseph Bayles

Joe Bayles has been in the thrift, antique, and estate sale business since he was just a boy. His father, an antique auctioneer, has been buying and selling antiques through auctions and his antique store. Joe was raised going to flea markets and auctions and house cleanouts. Over time, as Joe got older, he became an integral part of his father’s business through appraisals, assisting with auctions, and going on house calls to buy items for auction or the store. Having learned the business, Joe decided to open his own consignment in 2005. Since then, he has assisted customers and consignors alike with house calls, appraisals, and running estate sales. Joe’s expertise and knowledge about vintage and antique items, sports items and memorabilia, and more is a great resource for the store and our clientele.

Emily Stewart

Emily Stewart spent 15 years in international marketing with various non-profits. She recently took the plunge to follow her passion – owning a thrift store with her partner, Joe. Despite working full time, Emily was a thrift-addict; always going to thrift stores, flea markets, and yard sales. She traveled extensively through her job and no matter what country or state she was in, she always made sure to visit the local thrift spots. Through her digital marketing background, Emily started and maintains the social media platforms to further connect with customers and consignors. In addition, Emily believes strongly in prioritizing sustainable and ethical business practices, such as upcycling and minimizing waste, in order to appeal to consumers who are becoming increasingly conscious of the environmental impact of their purchases.
